The product
Chance lets entrants join an event waiting list during a registration window. Organizers can allocate limited spots through randomized draws and manage invitations, while administrators have moderation responsibilities. It was built as a University of Alberta software-engineering team project.
My contribution
I built a centralized Firebase manager for Firestore CRUD and file storage. I implemented QR generation, encoding, decoding, and camera-based scanning with runtime permission handling, alongside signup logic and domain models for the event and lottery workflow.
Working across the application
Event access connects several layers: a scanned code, the event record, entrant identity, waiting-list state, and registration rules. The project required integrating independently developed components while keeping these relationships consistent.
Team delivery
We coordinated through user stories, GitHub Issues, feature branches, pull requests, and integration work. This case study distinguishes my contributions from the full team scope. The source repository is available; this portfolio does not claim a public app-store release.
